It has taken me some time to finally be able to read ALL IN and it is a double edge sword. The Blackstone Affair is a series that I am just reading for me around all my other blogging commitments, so it has been a challenge to find the time to read and enjoy them. The reason it is a double edge sword is because I get to escape everything with Ethan Blackstone but, I don’t know when I’m going to be able to read the next book in the series. That being said, let me dive into ALL IN!

This book picks up right where NAKED ended – with Brynne learning that Ethan was hired by her father to protect her from a possible attack/threat. The only difference is that now we are in Ethan’s head. Oh yes, I got the opportunity to spend time in that magnificent head of his and I love this man even more. It was great to hear how Ethan really feels about Brynne – the urge to possess, the passion, the love – since we know how Brynne feels. I love that the author chose to write NAKED from Brynne’s POV and ALL IN from Ethan’s POV. I feel like I “know” both characters well and truly understand each of their motivations and thoughts.

This second installment deals with Ethan trying his hardest to gain Brynne’s trust back and keep her with him. He realizes how much he loves her and wants to keep her safe. Ethan also is concerned with Brynne’s safety as threats have been made. I don’t know how this man functions – he has a million different things going on, yet his biggest priority is Brynne. Can he be any more amazing?

“And even if you hate me for what I did, I’ll still love you. I’ll still love you because you are mine.” ❤ Ethan

I enjoyed getting to know a little bit more about Ethan – even seeing interactions with his father and hearing him talk to his sister. All this made him more realistic to me. There is also a little bit of back story into what secrets he has hidden, but I still was left not really fully knowing or understanding what plagues him. I wish we had gotten more of this part of his story. How has his time in Special Forces shaped him? What impact does it really have on him?

“Damn, relationships are a lot of fucking work…like all the goddamn time.”

This was a great second book in the series. Not only does it switch POV to Ethan, but it enabled Ethan and Brynne’s relationship to move past the secrets and lies by omissions. There is no cliffhanger at the end of this book, but I was left wanting more and now I can’t wait to read EYES WIDE OPEN!
