carry your heart

Champion skier Pippa Baker lost everything in the avalanche: her boyfriend, his best friend, and her will to win. After a year of grief, she returns to competition.

She finds more than buried memories and steep slopes in Utah. She finds Hunter Dawson, a heartbreaking daredevil with the gold medals to prove it. And she finds that his reputation doesn’t stop her from falling hard, and that her heart might not be as broken as she once believed.

But, Hunter has scars and memories too—scars that make him believe falling in love might hurt too much, scars that make him run.

Pippa knows how much love hurts when it’s gone. Will she stop herself before she’s in too deep? Or will she let herself fall?

This is a new adult, contemporary romance novel.

★ Excerpt

“I’m going to grab a drink,” I say, badly wanting something to ease the nerves and excitement of being back here. The last time I saw most of these faces was at Ryan’s funeral. I shake that unpleasant, searing memory. Parker had been a pallbearer. Joe had practically collapsed outside of the church. I shudder. Center myself in the present.

You’re in a bar. Almost a year later.

I look around for a bartender, and find Laurel instead.

“Hey!” she slurs enthusiastically.

“Hey, Laurel.”

“Lucky break today, huh?” she asks.

“Yep. You okay?”

She rolls her eyes. “Fine. I was so fucking pissed.”

“It happens to everyone,” I say with a shrug.

“Not to me,” she tosses her hair. “So, you’re like back or whatever? For real?”

I nod. “I’m back.”

Hunter leans further on the counter and looks down, past Laurel to me. “How’d you do?” he asks. His eyes are locked intensely on mine. It’s a gaze that I can’t hold for long.

“Third,” I say.

“Not bad,” he smiles mischievously. “Told you I’d pray for you.”

Laurel shakes her head as if she’s noticed that Hunter and I are talking for the first time. “Oh. Hunter, this is Pippa.”

“Hey,” I say.

“We know each other,” Hunter says automatically.

“How?” she demands.

“We were on the same plane here,” Hunter says. He watches me. He answers Laurel’s question, but his eyes don’t leave me. “Philly, can I get you a drink?”

“Ah…” I glance at him and at the bartender and at Laurel.

“Her name is Pippa,” Laurel says.

“What do you like?”

“Gin and tonic.”

He grins. “Country club girl, huh?”

Laurel looks at him and scowls. “Hunter, don’t leave without me. I’m going to say hi to all of my friends.”

She disappears over to Brooke and a few of the men’s Alpine skiers. I watch her, curiously, while a few of the male skiers let their eyes roam over me. They’re not checking me out. It’s more of a haunted look. Like, I’m the ghost of a bad memory they try to forget everyday.

They were the ones who were Danny and Ryan’s best friends. The guys they grew up with, fought with, all of that stuff.

And I’m the girl who somehow didn’t die when both of their buddies did. I swallow. I know they can’t look at me without thinking of them. I know that’s true for so many people here.

“Hey,” Hunter says softly, getting my attention. He has a beer and my drink.

He pushes the glass towards me and leaves a twenty-dollar bill on the bar.

He steps closer, sits down on a stool near me, and leans close, so I can feel the heat of his body and smell his aftershave. I like being near him. It’s warm. It feels dangerous.

“So are you always this happy with third place?” he teases.

“No. Not usually.”

He nods. “Better than second.” He rubs his chin. “Someone once told me that there’s nothing worse than fourth place, because you’re the best person not to get a medal. But I don’t think that’s true. I think second is the worst.”

I nod. “You finish second a lot?”

He laughs. “Nah. I finish first or I don’t finish at all.”

“You race?”

“Used to,” he nods. “Not anymore. I do some freestyle stuff, half-pipe.” He smiles. “I actually started snowboarding because I hated racing—when I skied. When I was a little kid.” He bites his lip and cocks his head. “But, I like to compete. Plus, I wasn’t any good on skis.”

“I doubt that’s true.”

“No, it is…” he shakes his head. “I raced your ex-boyfriend for a while. Danny?”

I nod. “Oh, yeah?”

“Back in middle school. Ryan, too. Ryan was fucking good. Everyone always told us to try and do it like Ryan.”

I flutter my eyelashes briefly, remembering how quick and graceful Ryan was. Even my dad, who knew little about competitive skiing, said so when he watched him race.

“The Snow Cat.”

“Ryan the Snow Cat. That’s what Danny called him—always landed on his feet.”

Hunter nods.  “You don’t want to talk about this.” He moves a little closer.

“We can talk about it.” I don’t mind telling Hunter about them—he barely knew them and he seems barely curious.

“But you don’t want to.” His hair is combed back, in soft dark waves, and his eyes are big, green and glassy. The color of celery. He lifts the dark Budweiser bottle to his mouth and takes a long sip of beer. God, he looks good.

He wipes the back of his mouth with one hand, a lazy, athletic gesture that makes me look at lips, soft and…shit, Pippa, you cannot be doing this right now.

I finish half of my drink in one swallow.

“Yeah,” I say. “Nervous.”

He raises an eyebrow. I wish I could do that. “Yeah? Do I make you nervous, Pippa?”

I blush. Stupid admission. Yes. “You’ve decided to call me Pippa?”

He smiles. “I feel weird buying someone named Phil drinks.”

“Ah, got it.”

He leaned forward onto his arms. I smell the alcohol on his breath; he’s more than a little bit tipsy at this point. “So, did you feel it change?”

“I didn’t feel anything change.”

“When you finished third,” he bites his lip and slides even closer to me. He leans and whispers in my ear. “You know, nobody feels sorry for you anymore. Now that they think you might be in the way again.”

I look back, over the people I know, and then up at Hunter. “Everyone here is an adult. We all want the same thing. We know that.”

He laughs. “You think Laurel’s going to go quietly if you keep beating her?” He shakes his head. “I saw you go today. You weren’t even trying. If I could see that, then I’m sure everyone else could”

“I was trying.”

“Not like you used to.”

“You never saw me ski before, so…”

“I know what playing scared looks like. Trust me. I was that guy for a long time,” he nods. He looks down at the bar.

“What’s your point?”

“Nothing.” He shrugs: “You seem like a cool girl. And I know what it’s like. One year I was the down on his luck kid and everyone was happy to see me win. The next year, I was just the competition. And I couldn’t figure out why people I thought were friends weren’t my friends anymore. Things change when you win. When it’s you, you’re the last person to realize what’s happening.”

I nod. “Oh, and you’re just looking out for me?”

“You don’t have to believe me.”

“No,” I say. I step back. “I never said I didn’t believe you. Thanks, I guess.”

“Laurel hates your fucking guts, by the way.”

“Yeah. So I’ve heard.”

He shrugs, not saying anything back to me.

“So, what’s your deal with her? She’s your girlfriend?”

He takes a long sip of beer, buying a little more time. He swallows and smirks. “I guess it depends on whether you want to come home with me.”

A flush rushes to my face. I didn’t think I seemed that easy. Or like I wanted him that badly. “Excuse me?”

“Do you want to come home with me?”

I stare at him. “How much have you had to drink?”

“Not that much,” he shrugs. “Interested?”

“No,” I say indignantly.

“Yeah, then, sure. I guess she’s my girlfriend.” I stare at him for a few seconds.

“What? Changed your mind?” he asks wickedly.

“No.” I shake my head. “Have fun.”

“I’ll try, Philly.” It really doesn’t seem like he cares that I’ve said no, and he definitely doesn’t care if I’m pissed off. But I am pissed off—both by the question and by the fact that he’s leaving with Laurel so soon after asking me if I wanted to go home with him.

NEW RELEASE SPOTLIGHT: Fireworks by Lindsey Gray

Genre: Contemporary Romance

★ Synopsis ★

Sophie McKibbin finds herself back in Sam Crawford’s life after ten years. Unfortunately, Sam is dating Lola, Sophie’s high school nemesis. Lola dumps Sam the day before he was supposed to introduce his mystery girlfriend to his family over the Fourth of July holiday. With the looming fear of disappointing his mother once again and his long held feelings for Sophie, he asks her to take Lola’s place. With family feuds, an old flame, and feelings that have been locked away for a decade, there is bound to be some fireworks.

“Fireworks” is a novella, approximately 22,000 words.

* * *

When Sam’s phone beeped with a text message, he took it out to read. It was Lola letting him know she was going to bed after her study session and to say goodnight. He slipped it back into his pocket and realized before anything else happened, he needed to fess up.

“Um, Sophie?”

“Yes, Sam.” She sipped on her milkshake.

“Do you remember Lola Dennison?”

Sophie knew exactly whom he was talking about and her distaste showed on her face. “Yes, she was a class below me and Caroline. Why?”

“She’s getting her Master’s in Child Psych, and we bumped into each other while she was doing her clinical rotation. We’ve been dating for a couple months.” Sam watched as Sophie’s eyes turned the shade of ice blue, and she scrunched up her face.

“Does Caroline know?” Sophie tried to rein in her anger, but was having a difficult time.

“No, I haven’t told anybody yet. I guess her mom and my mom had a big falling out years ago, and it’s still pretty rocky between them. We kind of want to see where it goes before we bring the families into it.”

Sophie’s gut twisted in unimaginable ways. The younger and more popular Lola bullied Sophie and Caroline for three years during high school. Caroline never stood up for herself, but Sophie, on the other hand, gave as good as she got. That caused more than a few tussles in the Halston High hallways.

She calmed herself down and took a deep breath. “I see.”

“You don’t approve?”

“Um . . .” Sophie looked up at him as his question hung in the air. “It’s really none of my business. But when you do tell Caroline, make sure you’re alone. The two of them didn’t get along well.”

“Lola’s never said anything.” Sam wondered what could have happened between the two.

“She probably doesn’t want to think about it.” Sophie dropped her chin to her chest and mumbled, “I know don’t want to.”

“Nothing. Look, thanks for dinner. I really needed something greasy like this after tonight.”

Sam could tell she was ready to leave so he reached for the bill folder. “No problem. I wouldn’t mind hanging out again. That offer for drinks is still on the table.”  He stuffed some cash in the bill folder and placed it back on the table.

“Yeah, we’ll talk later.” Sophie smiled while trying to stop her heart from hurting.

“I’d like that.” He meant it, too.

Sam knew that dating Lola was a risk, but knew he couldn’t pass up the chance to have Sophie in his life.

Tess has never had sex. Believe it or not, she’s never had a decent kiss.

The aspiring Seattle painter and photographer is still recovering from the trauma of being beaten and nearly raped at a rock show nearly three years before. So she keeps life simple: she goes to school, goes to work in a coffee shop, goes home, goes on living.

But then Ben’s naked body crashes—almost literally—through Tess’s wall against the world.

Ben is doing his dad’s art-teacher girlfriend a favor when he agrees to pose nude for her drawing class. But what he draws is the interest of the irresistible punk-looking girl—and it’s interest he reciprocates, with interest.

Their sexual chemistry is too much to resist. But it’s when they have their clothes on that their heat quickly slips on ice. Ben’s womanizing history is one thing, but it’s history of another kind—related to that fateful night at the rock show—that threatens to tear the young lovers apart forever.

He leans down and plants another earth crumbling kiss on my mouth. I open my mouth first this time and a low moan escapes him. He pulls back and says, “Keep it up, I dare you.”

“Maybe I will,” I tease.

I back up a little and I walk him over to the door. “Uh, thanks for stopping by,” is all I spit out, like a moron.

He chuckles a little. “Yeah, sorry again about that, next time I’ll have your full permission.” And with that one little line, it feels like there’s a little something extra behind it.

He grabs his leather jacket and he’s out the door. Holy fuck.

Dissidence (Dissidence #1)

In dystopian America, sixteen-year-old Kaleigh finds out quickly what having a big mouth and not enough brains to keep it shut can earn you. A one-way ticket to the work camps that no one even knows exists.

Nuclear war has ravished the nation, and a century later, the survivors are living in an entirely new world. In a society where everything is decided for you, from where you work to who you marry, dissidence is not taken lightly.

But, even inside the camps, Kaleigh’s fiery spirit refuses to be extinguished. In a single moment of defiance, she manages to spark a riot that ignites into a full-blown rebellion.

With growing numbers counting on her, not just for their freedom, but for their very lives, two different boys vying for her heart, and trouble brewing from within the camp itself, can Kaleigh find a way to step up and become the leader everyone is counting on her to be, or will even the most carefully laid plans come crashing down around her?

Bodies are strewn all over the yard. A couple of other towers have been overrun by sheer force, but there are at least three more that I can see from here where bullets are still flying. As hard as I try, I can’t find Connor in the chaos unfolding below us. When I glance back at Peter, I see him lining up the gun he took off of the guard, aiming at the next closest tower.

“Have you ever fired one of those before?” I ask, already sure that I know the answer.

“How hard can it be?”

How hard can it be? Did the guy holding the long range rifle seriously just say the words ‘how hard can it be?’

Vengeance (Dissidence #2)

Things aren’t always as they seem. In fact, in a world of secrets and lies, almost nothing ever is. But, Kaleigh made her choices and now she has to live with the consequences.

Haunted by her guilt, Kaleigh is forced to question everything she thought she knew. From friends and foes, to loyalty and love, she’s quickly losing faith in herself and those around her.

Everyone she cares about has been launched to the front lines, but can Kaleigh find the strength within herself to keep fighting? Or, surrounded by loss, deceit, and betrayal, will her fiery spirit finally be extinguished?

“After my parents died, I spent a lot of time at the cemetery. When I wasn’t out raising hell, I used to sit by their tombstones. Sometimes I’d talk. I don’t know if it was to them, or myself, or . . . the universe. I just talked.”

“Did it help?” I’ve never been a particularly soft spoken person, but my voice comes out so low, I wonder if he can even hear me.

“Sometimes. Sometimes I just ended up feeling like an idiot.” He chuckles and I feel myself starting to smile until Connor’s signature grin slips into something more somber. “I yelled at my dad once. Out loud, right there in the middle of a public cemetery. No one was around, but still . . . After he killed himself, I was so mad. At the world, at society, even at myself, but mostly I think I was mad at him. For being such a coward that he had to leave me all alone.” Connor’s voice is gruff. I can hear the tears he’s holding back and I squeeze his hand so that he knows it’s okay. I’ve cried in front of him enough times. “I blamed him for a long time for what happened after that. For my reckless actions, for me getting locked up in the camps, all of it. I knew it was my fault. I was the hotheaded idiot that did all of those stupid things, but I couldn’t help blaming him for putting me in that position in the first place. For not being there to stop me.”

He takes a harsh breath and I feel him hold it. To fill the sudden quiet between us, I say the only thing I can think of, “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be, Girlie. I’m not.” His hand cups my face as his thumb slides across my cheek, wiping away tears I hadn’t realized were continuing to fall. “Not anymore.”

Genre: Erotic Romance

Expected Release Date: July 16th

Synopsis ✭

What do you do when the man you love leaves, and the only man you’ve wanted since is the one you can’t have?

When Emma’s first love walked away after learning she was pregnant, she was forced to pick up the pieces, re-evaluate her priorities, and change the course of her dreams all for the sake of her son, who became the only one who mattered.

It also meant taking a job with Jack McMillan; powerful, sexy, controlled, and CEO of McMillan Holdings. Emma has spent the last several years keeping her dreams and fantasies of Jack to herself, but one night, and one encounter, changed everything.

Once the walls between them are dropped and the truth is laid bare, will Jack and Emma’s new relationship be able to survive? When they are forced to confront their pasts, will they learn to finally put their trust in someone else, or will the lies that are told destroy them both?

Without any warning at all, his hand moved from my hair and wrapped around my neck pulling me close to him. My eyes widened just slightly before Jack’s lips pressed down on mine. They were warm, soft and delicious. He kissed my top lip, and then teased my bottom, urgently seeking entrance. I couldn’t have resisted even if I wanted to. I opened my mouth and let his kiss deepen. My entire body melted into him and I grabbed the tie around his neck that I had fondled earlier and held on for dear life, pulling him closer. My back hit the wall in my hallway, causing me to gasp into his mouth slightly. He didn’t relent. Instead, pressed up against me, his thigh pushing in between my legs that seemed to spread on their own accord. If I was able to think clearly, I mostly likely would have realized I was rubbing myself up against him like a dog in heat, but in the moment, I couldn’t. My insides were throbbing as I wantonly moaned and tried to ease the ache between my thighs that being so close to him created.

REVIEW: Unbreak Me by Lexi Ryan

unbreak me
Rating: 4 – 4.5 stars

This book was different. This book was interesting. This book was damn good. I love reading a book that takes you completely by surprise at each turn. UNBREAK ME is the kind of book that keeps you in the dark about the characters’ secrets for most of the book, but makes the reader think they have everything figured it out, only to prove that they are so wrong! It kept me on the edge of my seat guessing the entire time.

The start of the book was pretty much what hooked me immediately. Maggie returns to her small town after a year’s absence for her sister’s wedding. Her sister is marrying Maggie’s ex-fiance, the man she left only a year ago. And said ex-fiance still looks at Maggie the way he should be looking at his future wife. Yes, talk about awkward. Then while at the wedding, Maggie meets Asher, a tattooed, pierced, gorgeous man who doesn’t want to have sex with her. Yea at this point, I remember saying to myself…this book is going to be freaking awesome. It totally was!

Maggie is unlike pretty much any character I have ever read about thus far. She is a self proclaimed whore, slut, [insert derogatory name here]. The thing is she isn’t any of those things. She just has been branded that since she was fifteen and just sort of used that mask as a way of maintaining control. I won’t make excuses for her…some of her decisions and ways of handling certain situations were questionable, however, completely and utterly understandable given the circumstances. I really felt for Maggie – I felt her heartache, her pain, and fear.

And then there is Asher. Asher is hiding out in Maggie’s small town to escape his own problems. But there is something about Maggie that ignites something that he hasn’t felt in a long time. He wants more than to just sleep with her – he wants to take care of her, comfort her, hold her, fix her. He is unlike any man Maggie has ever met and it scares the living crap out of her. Asher is not the perfect guy – he is not about rainbows and butterflies. But, there is something about him that made me love him. Maybe it was his easy going personality, maybe it was that he never once judged Maggie, maybe it was that he just understood what Maggie needed. I am a HUGE Asher fan!

“I like you, Asher. But if we’re going to keep this up, whatever this is, you need to know my life is a little fucked up. I’m fucked up.”

His eyes search mine. “Then we’re a great match.”

In addition to getting Maggie and Asher’s POVs, we also got a bit of Will’s POV as well. Will is Maggie’s ex-fiance. He thought he moved on from Maggie and was ready to make a life with Maggie’s sister. But once Maggie came back into town, he began to question everything. Because we got Will’s POV too, I couldn’t help but sympathize with him as well and wonder if he is the right person Maggie should be with.

Damn this story was a tricky one. I liked Asher AND Will and didn’t know who I wanted Maggie to end up with until I got towards the end of the book. In my opinion, this isn’t a traditional love triangle. The story was complicated and was not a simple “which guy should I choose” storyline. The secrets Maggie harbors play a huge role in getting in her head and understanding her feelings for both these men, in addition to her entire family.

This is a stand alone book…I think. I say I think because I felt like we got an ending. There was no cliffhanger. However, I don’t feel like the story is completely over. Maybe there will be books about the other characters? Maybe we will get a sequel? I’m not sure. A sequel isn’t needed. I would be okay if this was a complete stand alone. I just wanted more. I felt what happened in the end was a bit rushed and I wanted more closure. I wanted more happy, especially after most of the book there was sadness. For this reason I give this book 4 stars, but everything before the ending is a solid 4.5 stars!

“If you shatter, I’ll find you.”

Luck of Love

Rating: 4 stars

I read a lot of books and have read plenty of different story lines. I feel like I’ve seen almost everything. However, a love story with a bit of suspense gets me every single time. I’m a sucker for them and this book did not disappoint. Add to the fact that this book was set in my home state of New Jersey and gave a shout out to Disco Fries (only true NJ natives know what they are), I became an instant fan!

That being said I feel like I owe it to you to come right out and tell you that yes, as the synopsis indicates, there is a love triangle in this book. I have been having a love/hate relationship with love triangles lately and the one in this book definitely teetered between both love and hate for me.

Blake Riley has a past that makes her avoid any types of touch, makes her tense at any sign of interest from a man, and makes her come off rude to most people who try and talk to her. Then Blake meets Derrick, CEO of Atlantic Knight’s Resort in Atlantic City, who makes her feel things she has never felt before and gives her a sense of peace. But, Blake also meets Landon, who makes her feel carefree and makes her laugh.

I’m going to do things to your body that nothing else will ever compare. When your body aches, I’ll be the only one to relieve the pain. When you’re starving, I’ll be the one to satisfy your appetite. And when you feel like you can’t breathe, I’ll be the oxygen you need.

Derrick is everything that Blake needs – strong, romantic, patient, understanding, powerful. He never pushed her too hard and knew that Blake would open up to him on her own time table. He always went out of his way to make her feel special – from getting her flowers, to planning a romantic dinner, to just making sure she was cherished. I am a huge Derrick fan!

Landon, although sweet in his own way, is much more rugged. He brings out a side of Blake that has long been hidden – the part of her that laughs and throws caution to the wind. He is definitely more the one you have a wild, crazy sex-filled weekend with rather than the one you bring home to mom.

And poor Blake. This girl’s past is horrid and when you get an idea of what she went through, you wonder how she is even functioning and able to have a relationship with anyone. I loved Blake’s determination to not let her past rule her future and the effort she put forth to try and change. I was also quite jealous that she had these two amazing guys vying for her attention. I think she handled it better than I would have expected and it made me like her THAT much more.

And just so you know Blake, once you’ve had a taste of what I can offer you, your body will crave me like a drug addict craves their next hit.

At first, I was not a fan of this love triangle. I found that by having feelings for both men, it somehow lessened the feelings Blake had for the other one. With love triangles, I like when one is the frontrunner. I like when there is a clear advantage given to one over the other. In this book, it was difficult to decide which man was better for her. I also feel that when the person left deciding between the two – in this instance, Blake – is a bit wishy washy and goes back and forth, I lose a bit of respect for them as a character. There were those moments for Blake and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t shake my head in disappointment.

HOWEVER, the authors did not cross the line to the point of no return with this love triangle. I think the fact that Blake was never sneaky or dishonest really redeemed her. Ultimately, I liked how the love triangle played out, despite not being resolved by the end of the book. I’m anxious to see where it goes in the next book.

And I’ll just rip the band aid completely off and tell you that there is a cliffhanger as well. WAIT. Don’t groan – hear me out. First off, the second book is expected to be released at the end of summer, so it won’t be a very long wait. Secondly, although it is a cliffhanger, I was able to put two and two together to get the gist of what may come and I’m sure you will be able to as well. It wasn’t the type of cliffhanger that will make you throw your Kindle/iPad/Nook/etc.

I thought this book was good, and the story was great! But, I do think the writing could be a little stronger. There were scenes where I felt the actions were laid out very systematically, almost robotically, which interrupted the flow of the scene. For example, “I walk down the hallway, through the living room, and stop by the front door, picking my purse up off the floor. I drape the strap of my purse over my shoulder, drop my phone inside and retrieve my keys” did not add to the story or plot and made it feel like i checking off a list of actions.

In addition, although I liked that we got the point of views of Blake, Derrick and Landon, I was unclear as to why Dean, Blake’s best friend and roommate, had a scene from his POV. I didn’t really see the purpose at all for it and it also stalled the story by its random placement in the book.

Finally, I thought scenes length of time need to be a bit more realistic in connection with the amount of dialogue exchanged. For example, when Blake and Derrick sit down to eat at a restaurant, the amount of time that passes between them ordering, receiving their food, eating and paying is about the time that it takes them to exchange about 6 sentences. Normally, this stuff doesn’t ever stick out in my mind and I don’t really care, but it happened a couple times in the book that made me take notice.

Ultimately though, I really liked this story, I really liked the characters and I am most definitely going to want to read the second book. It is definitely a fun summer read that you should add to your TBR list!

One final thought…this is a book where you will pick a team and I will gladly come out and say I am so TEAM DERRICK! I am eager to hear what team you are on.

About Tiffany Aleman

I am 27 years old, with a wonderful family. My husband is in the Army, and we have two wonderful children. Ashley and I have been best of friends since we were 13. I recently graduated from South University with my Associate’s Degree as a Paralegal. I enjoy listening to music, playing with my kids, and going to the beach, and anything that has to do with the outdoors pretty much.

I’ve always liked to write, but never really had an interest in reading until the summer of 2012. I am so excited to be taking my writing journey with Ashley, and we cannot wait for everyone to get their hands on Luck of Love, which is the first installment in the Luck Series. I have many authors that I consider my favorite so I’ll just name a few: E.L. James, SC Stephens, Molly McAdams, Rebecca Donovan, K.A Linde, Marie Coulson, and S.H. Kolee.

About Ashley Poch

Ashley grew up in Texas but now has joined her husband to reside in North Dakota. She is a military wife and mother to two adorable children. She’s always wanted to travel having grown up in a small town. Her interest in reading sparked last summer and now she’s a lost cause without her e-reader. Since she loves to travel, the places she gets to go in her fictional books are what any girl could ask for.

When Ashley isn’t glued to her computer you can find her outdoors either playing with her children or relaxing and enjoying the sun reading a good romance novel.
